CMJ UK Statement regarding Covid 19 virus - Issued on 17th March

For this afternoon up until the end of April the CMJ senior management team has decided following the most current government advice to postpone all deputation meetings, Passovers and other ministry related events in which close social contacts will be taking place. This has not been an easy decision, but one we believe is right. This is to protect vulnerable people and our staff team and their families.

Aspects of our ministry work will continue as a number of staff can work effectively from home for a period of time. This will enable some staff to focus on their ongoing ministry preparations, administration, study or writing projects. The Office at Eagle Lodge will remain open (but this will be reviewed on a regular basis) and the mail-out planned for tomorrow is taking place.

Our annual Conference (3rd to 5th July) is currently going ahead and bookings continue to grow. However, we will review the viability of the Conference each month having engaged with The Hayes Conference Centre, our partners and the latest government advice.

This is clearly a testing time for many, and the UK team is especially aware of significant challenges for our colleagues in the four CMJ centres in Israel. The ministry in Israel is especially vulnerable at this time as many aspects of ministry are based around offering hospitality. Let us continue to uphold one another in prayer as we seek to make wise and faithful decisions.

If you wish to clarify any issues relating to this statement please phone 01623 883960, during office hours.

Thank-you for your support and understanding at this time.

Psalm 62:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Trust in Him at all times, you people;

Pour out your heart before Him;

God is a refuge for us. Selah

Shalom,

Rev Alex Jacob, Chief Executive

John Brooks, Chief Operations and Finance Officer
