The Bible Comes to Life Exhibition at Willowfield Church, Belfast

Once again it was an absolute joy to travel to beautiful Belfast as part of the BCTL team. We set up the exhibition in Willowfield church, situated in a slightly less affluent area of East Belfast but the church is on a mission, the Lord leading the way, to transform lives in this community.

Once again it was an absolute joy to travel to beautiful Belfast as part of the BCTL team. We set up the exhibition in Willowfield church, situated in a slightly less affluent area of East Belfast but the church is on a mission, the Lord leading the way, to transform lives in this community.

We had five schools attending the exhibition over 3 days as well as opening in the evenings and all day Saturday to the general public - and boy did they come in! The church was buzzing with life!

On Friday evening we hosted 3 large youth groups in ages ranging from 10 to 16 - around 150 chil-dren in all. The younger ones really enjoyed learning to sing ‘Shabbat Shalom’ and dancing the Ho-ra! The older teenagers expressed their appreciation about the principle of the Shabbat and that God has set aside a day where we can replenish our batteries during busy and pressured school life. They had a mini tour around the exhibition - and the Shofar challenge was a hit with them as always! Willowfield church is a lively, engaging and community-minded church and it was a privilege to work with them! Their passion for evangelism is commendable and the care and nurture of those who attend the church would be enviable, if it wasn’t a sin!

To put the cherry on the top of the icing on the cake we had 20 YWAMer’s from various nations champing at the bit to get into costume and get stuck in! They also helped to take down the exhibits which made our job so much easier…they were a total delight and we thank God for this amazing generation of passionate believers!

It’s a delight to watch people discovering surprising facts about their Christian faith being rooted in Judaism. It reminded us that we seek to know where we come from by tracing our ancestral roots through those various websites where we discover our natural forebears; it gives us a sense of belonging and heritage. So also, this delving into our spiritual roots is much the same! A sense of belonging, heritage and roots.

All in all, it was wonderful. BCTL, Willowfield and YWAM, all working together and experiencing the Lord command the blessing.

Graham and Suky Bright
