“Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6) is a key verse for us at CMJ. But it is so important we pray for Israel and the Jewish People as Hamas has declared a “Day of Rage” against them for tomorrow (Friday 18th September).

News emerging from Israel today reports that Hamas have declared (another) “day of rage” against Israel, particularly Jerusalem.

According to the Jerusalem Post online article, the day has been declared in “response” to the claims that Israel is provoking Arabs on the Temple Mount. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are taking the threat serious, following a week of rising tensions and attacks against Jewish People, and have moved the Iron Dome from the Golan to the South.

The report says, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas vowed on Wednesday that his countrymen won’t allow Israelis to “desecrate” Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

“Al-Aksa is ours and so is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They have no right to desecrate them with their filthy feet. We won’t allow them to do so and we will do whatever we can to defend Jerusalem,” Abbas said in his Ramallah office during a meeting with east Jerusalem activists.

Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem and God’s protection on His people.

The 10 days between Rosh Hashanah (Which was on Sunday 13th September) until Yom Kipuur (on Wednesday 23rd September) are known as the Days of Awe (or Days of Repentance). This is the High holiday season for Jewish People who will be making preparations for the holiest day of their Festival year.
