A number of CMJ staff, Trustees, representatives and supporters attended the funeral of our Patron, Bishop John Taylor, on Thursday 16th June, which was held at St Albans’ Abbey at 2pm.

The flag above St Albans Abbey was flown at half mast, in honour of Bishop John Taylor who served at the Abbey between 1980, and his retirement in 1995.

Alex Jacob, CEO of CMJ UK joined around 800 people who joined Linda Taylor, and the family, to offer God thanksgiving for the life and ministry of Bishop John. He says,

“Today I shared in the funeral of Bishop John, an event marking an ending of a full and fruitful ministry. The service was a fitting tribute to his faith and life.”

A good number of people from the CMJ network were there to support Linda, as well as offer their condolences and reflections on the man they knew and served alongside, including our current President, Bishop David Evans.

Alex continues, “The service open with the Shema, sung by Sue Alridge, which was very appropriate, as were the readings from Ezekiel 37 and John 20.”

Paul and Janey also attended, with their newly ordained son, Dan, “It was a wonderful service.”

Bishop John Taylor, Patron of CMJ, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday 1st June. May he now know eternal shalom with his Saviour, Yeshua.
