Shoresh Tours are different!
  • Popular & unusual sites visited
  • Hebrew background to Bible explained
  • Tour guides ALL believers
  • Tour guides ALL accredited with Israeli tourism bureau
  • Absorbing Teaching
Shoresh Study Tours has been in operation for since 1986 providing people from all over the world with an opportunity to tour Jerusalem and Israel . The emphasis of Shoresh (Hebrew for the word "root" ) is to discover something of the significance of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and to enable the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament to come alive in the context in which they were written . The testimony of many who have come on such tours is that they have not only discovered so much of the richness of the background to the Bible, but the experience has been quite life changing.

Alexander College

The goal of Alexander College is dedicated to the task of helping Christians come into a deeper understanding of the sacred text so that we may become better disciples of Jesus the Messiah. This emphasis on discipleship together with academic study make Alexander College unique in Israel. Alexander College is helping to meet a growing demand from clergy and laity for greater in-depth Jewish and Biblical education. Using the Holy Land as our classroom and the Bible as our textbook, Alexander College will help participants dig deep into the soil of Israel and recover their Jewish roots through our language classes, seminars, courses, conferences and sabbaticals.
More than a pilgrimage
We are frequently asked, "What makes the Shoresh tours different?" The Shoresh programmes are not typical pilgrimage tours. Having lived here for a number of years, we feel that the most valuable and enriching things to see and experience are not necessarily located within Church buildings. Therefore, while we do visit sites significant to the Christian pilgrim, we also believe it is important to get "off the beaten track", away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds to encounter the land and people of the Bible.
Absorbing Teaching
In addition, special sessions of teaching and enquiry, and quiet times for reflection, are given in order that each person may receive all that God has for them during their time here. Above all, it is our desire that during your journey you may meet the Master; that your experience will be that of the two who walked on the Road to Emmaus, whose hearts burned within them as He spoke to them on the way.
Shoresh Tours are Special
Leaders since 1986
Shoresh is a non-profit ministry of Christ Church, Jerusalem. Since 1986 we have been assisting those who desire a deeper look at the roots of their faith in the land of Jesus. Whether you are considering your first trip to the Holy Land or have been previously, you will receive new insights into the scriptures as you journey through the land of prophets, priests and kings.
Standard Tour Programmes
The guides that are used by Shoresh Study tours are committed believers and several guides are Jewish. Different programmes are offered, the most popular being the "Life and World of Jesus" and "Roots of Faith". Also included are "The Teachings of Jesus", "Desert to Dominion" and "A Way Through the Wilderness" (which includes a visit to Jordan).
Life and World of Jesus
The most popular study programme concentrating on the New Testament period visiting sites in Galilee and in and around Jerusalem. Four star accommodation.
Roots of Faith
