The first of the relaunched Bible Comes To Life exhibitions came to Southwell recently. Over the four day event we hosted around 650 people including 150 primary school children.

The four senses were stimulated by the sights, sounds, smells and tastes in the atmospheric setting. The mix of Jesus-centred costumed talks by Bible characters such as Simeon, Mary, Moses, Abraham and the woman who lost her coin, along with the wonderful models of the Tabernacle and the Temple was a winning combination.

The exhibition gave insights into Biblical life and culture and raised lots of interesting questions. There was enthusiasm for the kind of teaching we offered, and the response across the generations was overwhelmingly positive.

A highlight of our week was a quote from a young schoolboy on sniffing the burning Incense; “Oooh that smells just like grandpa Jim”!

We’re looking forward to the BCTL being rolled out to many other places in the UK. What an amazing God we serve!

Next stop Broadstairs!
