ARTIFACTS
CMJ wants to make the most of a new historic collection of clothing and artifacts now in our possession - Supporters will be able to borrow as many items as they like for events in their churches and communities. The collection consists of a variety of garments that resemble clothing worn by Jewish people and Bedouin in Biblical times. Many people fondly remember CMJ’s ‘The Bible Comes to Life Exhibition,’ a travelling exhibition that was created to bring the Bible to life through costumes and drama. It was housed at CMJ’s Bible Exploration Centre in St. Albans and was active for many years.
This new collection of historic clothing is reminiscent of the garments used in the former traveling exhibition and is ideal for retelling the Biblical story to children, youth, and adults alike! CMJ will not charge supporters for borrowing the clothing and artifacts, and it is expected, of course, that items will be returned in the same condition. The collection can be borrowed for limited periods of time, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
If you would like to borrow any of the items, please email Jacki Turney at
jackit@cmj.org,uk, or call our office at 01623 883960. Also, if you
would like a CMJ staff member to join your event, we would be happy
to arrange for that as well.
