What is Advocacy?
Advocacy refers to the task of promoting, explaining, and defending the work of CMJ. It does so in the context of CMJ's mission, to "encourage Jewish people to come to faith in Jesus as their Messiah, to support them in serving him as Lord and to equip the Church to be involved in the mission." We seek to fulfill this statement by a range of ministries focusing on evangelism, encouragement and education. In regards to the ministry of education, CMJ believes it is vital to help churches, theological colleges, and church leaders to explore and reflect upon a range of issues, such as the Jewish roots of Christianity, the significance of Messianic Jewish believers, the understanding of the church and Israel within the purposes of God, and the methodology of evangelism. To support ongoing education, CMJ occasionally produces newsletters and theological papers, Olive Press Research Papers (OPRP) on a variety of historical and theological topics. To review past OPRP publications, please follow the link.
CMJ's ongoing ministry of advocacy through education provides opportunities to engage in important and contemporary theological study in a helpful, courteous and rigorous way. If you would like to learn more, please feel free to contact me at alexj@cmj.org.uk.
